India bans the use of more than 100 Chinese-made applications, including PUBG. Escalation of border conflict

The Indian government has announced a ban on the use of more than 100 Chinese-made apps, including Chinese Tencent holding's popular game PUBG Mobile. The ban also includes search Baidu and payment app Alipay, which looks like an escalation of the border dispute between the two countries.

India's Ministry of Electronic Information Technology said 118 banned applications would adversely affect not only "India's sovereignty and integrity", but also "security and public order". It is reported that this measure will protect the "interests" of mobile and Internet users in India.

 インドがPUBGほか100以上の中国製アプリを使用禁止。国境紛争がエスカレート

The banned PUBG is only for "Mobile" on smartphones, not desktop or home games. Nonetheless, the US TechCruch points out that the newly banned apps have the largest number of users, with more than 40 million active users in India in July.

Before that, India banned more than 100 Chinese-made apps from June to July, including popular short video app "TikTok" and mobile browser "UC Browser". The move was taken in mid-June in response to a border dispute in which 20 Indian soldiers and an unspecified majority of Chinese soldiers were killed, when the local iPhone assembly supply chain was in chaos (because Chinese parts were retained).

India accounts for more than 1/4 of PUBG Mobile's cumulative installations, according to Sensor Tower, a research firm. Although the gains are still negligible, the Indian market is considered promising in the future.

Speaking of "PUBG Mobile", Epic Games's developer account was deleted and competing "Fortnight", as well as the company's games disappeared from App Store on the same day, was widely used in App Store. If the Unreal Engine developer account for Epic originally announced by Apple is deleted (prohibited by the court), it should be involved in the "PUBG Mobile" using the engine, but in this case, what is going on between Apple and Tencent is what I want to imagine.
